BBBSU: Will be working with the Mentor 2.0 program which pairs adults with high school students that are on their way to becoming first generation college students. There will be three crucial tasks: 1) developing a logistics timeline and checklists for each of the monthly in-person activity meeting between the mentors and mentees enrolled in Mentor 2.0, 2) developing a recruiting plan and the relevant tools to support recruiting approximately 80 new mentors annually, and 3) developing a communication plan to guide the BBBSU staff’s on-going communications with the volunteer mentors
UVU: Will facilitate the recruiting, training and placement of student volunteers as tutors at 11 different sites in four Utah County Communities and will also place Title I middle school students in SCUP’s summer STEM program, UVU PREP. VISTAs will create and strengthen campus-community partnerships with schools and community based organizations to support college access and success for low-income students.
