Volunteers Needed- Super Reader Party

We still need 3 volunteers to help with the Super Reader Party this Saturday 8am-12pm! Let me know if you are willing and able to help. Breakfast will be provided by KUED and it will be a lot of fun helping kids learn about Tessellations through making art!

Saturday, April 11th: 8AM-12PM
                     KUED Super Reader Party
Tessellation Station

KUED invites children PreK – 6th grade to participate in the 22nd annual Reading Marathon from March 1 – March 31, 2015. KUED hosts the annual marathon to encourage kids and their families to spend quality time reading. Participants may read alone, read to someone else or be read to by another person. Children who complete the marathon will be invited to the Super Reader Party on April 11, 2015, with over 40 community organizations, including UMOCA, bringing together educational activities, take home learning games, and free books for each child.
UMOCA’s ‘Tessellation Station’ booth will tie together art and engineering by helping children creatively problem solve using shapes, inspired by the PBS Kids show Odd Squad.

Volunteers will assist children in a hands- on activity using paper, pencil and scissors to design their own unique tessellation.
·         Volunteers will help with setup, assist with the art project, greet families and children, show the children how to make the art project, and clean up the project afterward.
·         More detailed information on the project and what to expect will be sent after you sign up! This event will be held at KUED on the University of Utah Campus.
·         Remember to specify which time you would like to help!
