Volunteer Opportunities

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

A Big THANK YOU to all our 2013 volunteers!

Service in the City released its 2013 annual report this month. We'd like to thank each and every one of the amazing 3,033 volunteers who helped our City programs last year and contributed over 17,200 hours of time and talent. To view the complete Annual Report, click here.

2 Groups Needed ASAP for Tree Planting Projects
We have trees that need to be planted in Salt Lake City open space areas this month and we could use the help of two large groups! If your company, church or school group is looking for a 2 - 3 hour project sometime over the next two weeks, contact Amanda Anderson immediately at 801.535.6202. We would like a group to help plant Boxelder trees at Parleys Historic Nature Park and another group to help plant Cottonwoods and Peace Leaf Willow Trees along the Jordan River Parkway Trail at 1700 S.

Open Space Adopt-a-Spot Opportunity

This year, Service in the City is launching a new Adopt-a-Spot program with the Parks and Public Lands Department. If you're part of a company, church, school or other group who is looking for regular volunteer projects for your team throughout 2014, you'll want to jump on this opportunity! We have areas along the Jordan River Parkway Trail and in Parley's Historic Nature Park ready to adopt. Projects and tasks vary by area.
Service in the City and Questar started a pilot adopt-a-spot program over a year ago. Through their team's dedication and support, we've been able to clean up a stretch of the Jordan River Parkway Trail from 200 to 900 S. Questar has contributed over 200 volunteer hours by planting trees, pulling weeds, creating habitat patches, and picking up over 75 bags of trash.
Your group can truly make a difference cleaning up and preserving our beautiful outdoor spaces! Contact Amanda Anderson to request an application form.

Living Traditions Festival Volunteers
Come join the Salt Lake City Arts Council as a volunteer at the 29th Annual Living Traditions Festival, a celebration of Salt Lake's Folk and Ethnic Arts! Volunteers have the opportunity to help with the children's area, beverage booth, crafts area, maintenance and more during the three-day Festival.  We need volunteers from May 14-19. To register as a volunteer, please contact Annastasia Kaessner at 801-596-5000 or annastasia.kaessner@slcgov.com. General info is available at LivingTraditionsFestival.com. Applications must be received by Thursday, May 1st!
