A diverse body of talent with fresh ideas and perspectives is one of the essential ingredients to a company's long-term success.
As you look around your office, is everyone just like you? Probably not. The demographics of the American workforce have changed dramatically over the last 50 years. In the 1950s, more than 60% of the American workforce consisted of white males. They were typically the sole breadwinners in the household, expected to retire by age 65 and spend their retirement years in leisure activities. Today, the American workforce is a better reflection of the population with a significant mix of genders, race, religion, age and other background factors. Click here to read more.

And the same goes for projects, creative ideas, daily tasks, half-written emails, and that thing you stopped working on to read this article. When you interrupt a task, it can be difficult to pick it up again. And we are interrupted nearly every three minutes, according to Gloria Mark, professor of informatics at University of California, Irvine. April 3rd-5th: 2014 NASPA Region V Power of One Conference
A NASPA LGBTQA leadership conference invites students to educate and learn about intersecting identities while promoting social justice.  Hosted by the Salt Lake Community College and University of Utah.  More information can be found here.

April 8th: La Conferencia
La Conferencia will be held at the University of Utah Union Building on Tuesday April 8th. Registration will be from 7:45am to 8:30am. The conference will begin at 8:35 am and end at 4:00pm. As part of La Conferencia, we will hosting a dance after the conference that will go from 8:00-11:00pm. La Conferecia is free to attend and will include breakfast and lunch. April 22nd: CMES Earth Day Contest
