 March Volunteer
Opportunities

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Need Support Selling New Transit Pass
Starting in March, new transit passes will be available for Salt Lake City residents. Mayor Becker and UTA have partnered to design a new annual pass available for $360, or payable in $30 a month installments (to learn more, click here). This is a great deal and will hopefully encourage even more people to protect our air quality by utilizing public transportation. Throughout March and April, we'll need several volunteers able to help us sell these new passes at libraries and local events. As a volunteer, you'd be helping answer questions for customers in line, administering short surveys, and potentially take photos for people's passes. If you're interested in volunteering for one of these shifts, please email Amanda at amanda.anderson@slcgov.com.

We need 2 volunteers for each of these shifts!

Saturday, March 22nd from 10 am - Noon at the Rio Grande Winter Market
Saturday, March 22nd from Noon - 2 pm at the Rio Grande Winter Market
Monday, March 24th 5:30 - 8 pm at the Day-Riverside Library
Saturday, March 29th from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at the Sprague Library
Saturday, March 29th from 12:30 pm  2:30 pm at the Sprague Library

Service in the City Volunteer Project Leader
Interested in a fun, challenging, regularly scheduled volunteer opportunity? Want to gain more management or project planning experience? Service in the City is looking for 2 more people interested in being volunteer project leads. In this role, you'd work closely with Amanda and the Service in the City program to help supervise large volunteer events. People interested in this volunteer role would need to be able to make an eight month committment and have at least 3 to 4 hours a week to give between the months of March and October. For more information, call Amanda at 801.535.6202.

Upcoming Garden, Park and Open Space Volunteer Projects
Spring is almost upon us and we'll need groups of volunteers to help in our City's parks, open spaces and gardens very soon. The following projects are available to small groups of around 15 people:

Pruning and weeding at the Washington Square Garden (450 S 200 E). Project day and time is flexible to the group wanting to take it, as long as it's before March 15th.
Raking leaves and tree seeds at Poplar Park (800 S Emery St). Project day and time are flexible.
Helping re-chip the playground at Taufer Park (300 E and about 650 S). Project day and time are flexible.

Salt Lake City is full of diverse non-profit organizations all working hard to impact our community. Check out some other fun volunteer opportunities!

Volunteer with The Active Aging Program

The Salt Lake County Active Aging Program is looking for Spanish speaking volunteers to teach Living Well with Chronic Condition classes in the community. Four day training is required and a commitment to teach two sessions per year. It's a fun opportunity to help others dealing with chronic conditions to manage their symptoms. If interested please contact Erika Thompson at 385-468-3082 or email at ethompson@slco.org.
