Happy New Year! I am happy to report that more kids are thriving in school and at home because of the power of play.
Playworks has been featured in a number of national media outlets in the past month. If you missed it, the Washington Post did a piece that highlights what we've known all along, and what the American Academy of Pediatrics stated last year: recess is vital to kids. CNN declared this the year of play and The New York Times spolighted Playworks as an organization that works in successfully moving the needle on societal problems.
Here in Utah, we are proud to report that teachers in our schools are gaining back almost 21 hours of important instructional/ learning time. 95% of staff, administrators and teachers are feeling impacts at their school and want Playworks to return next year and kids are growing socially, emotionally and physically.
Thank you to our partners who share in the belief that the power of play brings out the best in every kid. The Ray and Tye Noorda Foundation, George S and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation and Utah Association of Financial Services' generous support makes it possible to reach more kids this year!
Game Gear has come on-board as Official Shirt Sponsor of our Run for Recess 5k.
Wells Fargo, Hirevue, Ray, Quinney & Nebeker, Strong & Hanni and Sinclair have all come on as initial Golf Tournament Sponsors to make this year a tremendous event.
Thank you for support of Playworks and I look forward to seeing at our 5k event this March or Golf Tournament this May!
