The balmy -11 F temperatures at Alta Ski Area last Friday morning made us shiver for a moment, but didn't deter our hearty group from taking to the slopes before the lifts opened to the general public. There's something about an alpine sunrise and untouched Alta corduroy that really brings a smile to your face!

Help Us Plant Trees In 2014
A note from TreeUtah's Executive Director,
Amy Collins

This holiday season, show us what trees means to you by making a gift to TreeUtah to help us plant trees in the year ahead!

There are so many reasons to love trees... trees clean our air, filter our water and create food for both people and wildlife.

But today, many of Utah's trees are threatened by human development, drought, global climate change and natural predators such as the bark beetle. That's why TreeUtah is committed to planting 5,000 trees across the state in 2014, but we can't do it without your help.

I'd like to invite you make a donation now to ensure that we can reach our goal and make Utah a greener, heathier place for us to love.

Thank you so much for your support of TreeUtah and for caring about trees.

 Scheduling Planting for in 2014

Redwood Nature Area,
West Valley City
It's frigid out there! Snow blankets the frozen ground. And all of our successfully planted trees of 2013 are settled in for winter. Yet, Spring 2014 is just around the corner!

Would your company or community group like to help us plant trees next year? If so, we'd love to get you on our schedule.

Contact Ross, TreeUtah's Planting Coordinator, to discuss how you can partner with us for a special Earth Day (April 22) or Arbor Day (April 25th) or other tree planting event next spring.

Winter Tree Workshops!

Kick off 2014 with TreeUtah and the Tracy Aviary as we Explore our Communi-trees!

Join us on Saturday, January 11th at 2:30pm for a program about the magnificent birds  and trees in our back yard. Discover wonders of our local trees, and have a few nose-to-beak experiences with native birds that call them home during this hour-long experience. Program is free with Aviary admission!

If you can't make it, there are other exciting opportunities this winter:

Saturday, February 8th: Snowshoe Hike at Ogden Nature Center
Saturday, March 29th: Fruit Tree Pruning at the Ecogarden

Visit our website for more listings and registration information.

With these funds we have been able to work with thousands of volunteers and plant tens of thousands of trees across the Salt Lake Valley. Learn more about ZAP at http://www.zap.slco.org/
