The weather may have turned but the heat is on to enjoy the fall harvest and tidy well loved open spaces before winter.
Apple and Pear Fruit Harvest
Friday, September 27, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
RSVP Required, 4 spaces available
Each year, locally grown fruit goes to waste as it falls onto the streets and yards of SLC. Volunteers help to harvest this fruit, sharing the bounty with local food pantries, the homeowner, and taking some to their own kitchens. The SLC address will be released only to registered volunteers. 4 spots available. RSVP to Bridget Stuchly at bridget.stuchly@slcgov.com or 801-535-6438.
National Public Lands Day at Parley's Historic Nature Park
Saturday, September 28, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
No RSVP Required
Celebrate National Public Lands Day at one of SLC's most loved natural areas - Parley's Historic Nature Park. Volunteers will help with weed management, trash removal, and with a newly installed fence. Park at nearby Tanner Park, located at approx. 2470 South 2700 East. Meet at the top of the paved trail that descends into the park. Volunteers should bring a full water bottle and wear comfortable outdoor work clothes.
