Salt Lake Teens Write is a program the SLCC Community Writing Center runs in partnership with the Salt Lake City Public Library. Winner of the SLCC Innovation of the Year Award in 2011-2012, this program pairs adults who use writing in a significant way in their daily lives and professions with underserved 11th grade teens. Together, the teams work on writing within a variety of genres throughout the academic year by meeting weekly in pairs, attending three all-group workshops, and producing a portfolio of writing. We have a training and a kickoff celebration in the fall, and a final celebration and publication at the school year's end.
