Silver Pen Essay Writing Workshop for Seniors

 It’s human nature to reflect on our lives—what we’ve done, who we’ve known, what we’ve dreamt.  The SLCC Community Writing Center invites seniors to our interactive life story workshops in preparation for the Annual Silver Pen Competition sponsored by Salt Lake County Aging Services. This year’s theme is “What Is Your Passion . . . and Why?”

Get User-Friendly! Writing for Web Accessibility

 People with disabilities comprise more than 10% of the U.S. population. Web content is inaccessible for many of these individuals, preventing them from connecting with ideas, products and communities. SLCC Associate Professor Melissa Helquist will provide tips and tools for writing accessible web content in this workshop intended for non-profits, businesses, or individuals seeking to improve web accessibility.

Animate Your Words! Comic Book Creation

 Marvel, DC, now CWC! Be a part of our league as we work to storyboard epic adventures. This interactive workshop will give participants a step-by-step look at comic book creation and their own self-made comic book.
