Field Trip Leader
Responsibilities:
- Assist with or lead field trips for K-12 students
- Winter field trips run Jan.-Feb. and include snowshoeing
- Fall and Spring field trips run Oct.-Nov. and April-June, respectively and include wetland explorations
- Help with set-up and clean-up of field trips
Time Commitment:
- Field trips are conducted in 2-2.5 hour blocks during school hours from October – June. Total time required per trip may equal 4 hours after set-up and clean-up are completed.
- We prefer you assist with or lead at least three field trips per month. You can choose if you wish to help with fall, winter, or spring trips…or all three!
Training:
- Training will be held at the beginning of the fall, winter, and spring seasons and will last approximately 3-4 hours.
- Additional training will be offered throughout the year to provide you with updated and new information you may use during trips.
Requirements and Experience Necessary:
- No experience necessary! You will be provided with all the training you need.
- No criminal record. Background checks will be completed and references will be checked.
- Good communication skills as well as experience with youth, education, or environmental topics a plus.
- Must be reliable and able to tolerate extreme cold and/or hot weather depending on time of year you are helping with field trips. Must not mind getting wet or dirty.
