International Rescue Committee: Garden Mentor Needed

Purpose: Support newly arrived refugees in their community gardening efforts - assist with transportation and garden cultivation, and ensure that refugee families are abiding by community garden rules and protocols.

-Assist Refugee family with transportation to their garden

-Assist refugee family with maintaining cleanliness of their garden and common areas through completion of the family's required community service hours

-Assist refugee family with cultivating their gardens

Project Requirements:

-Physical requirements that might exclude some participants (gardening - bending, kneeling, etc.)
-Driver's License
-Background Check
-Attend General Orientation at IRC
-Commit to 2 hours/week for 4 months
-keep confidentiality agreements reliable and flexible
-Willing to learn about cross-cultural communication
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
