COMMUNITY PARTNER OVERVIEW/MISSION:
Rocky Mountain Care Foundation (RMCF) is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1999. Their mission is to raise funds and implement programs that benefit under-served seniors and chronic of terminally ill individuals. Through their Charitable Care Initiative, we help patients get the care they need but cannot afford and provide funding for capital improvements at skilled nursing facilities. Their two programs, Hospice and Community Outreach, provide more than 12,000 hours of volunteer service per year to low- and moderate-income elderly or disabled persons.

Volunteers will also go through a detailed training, because there is much to know when providing care for our elderly population. Some general concepts that will be covered include boundaries, communication styles, and respecting opinions/ view points of the patient.
RMCF will provide a background check and a Tuberculosis (TB) check to all volunteers.
Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one hour per week.
Volunteers engage in a wide range of activities; they may provide respite care, make friendly calls and visits, assist with end-of-life projects and give compassionate family support at patients’ homes or at skilled nursing facilities. They may also help run errands, do light house or yard work and other services.
Start volunteering today! You can visit their website and also check out their information in The Exchange.
