Volunteers Needed for the American Lung Association!
What? Facilitate an asthma education group (Open Airways) with Elementary school children who have asthma. Help these children to better manage their disease through six, forty minute curriculum-based lessons.
Why? More than 72,000 children in Utah have been diagnosed with asthma. It is the leading cause of school absenteeism from a chronic illness.
Where? Local elementary schools
Training: We will provide you with information and coaching to help you get a better understanding of asthma and teaching in a classroom setting.
May fufill internship requirements! Great for medical, communication, and education majors!
