New service opportunities in the garden...

What? The mission at Wasatch Community Gardens is to empower people of all ages and incomes to grow and eat healthy, organic, local food.

Grateful Tomato Weed and Feed - Volunteers will help begin to put the gardens to rest for the season and then enjoy tomato sandwiches and other fresh produce from the garden. We're hoping for a great turnout for this fun and new event.

Annual Pumpkinfest - Held at the Historic Sandy Garden. The community gardeners have a huge pumpkin patch and each year they grow amazing varieties of heirloom pumpkins and gourds. Community members are invited to purchase their decorative and carving pumpkins for the season at comparable prices to store-bought pumpkins. Volunteer to help with this awesome event!

Volunteer Banquet - On October 28th. This is our favorite way to say thank you to all of the wonderful work you've done this year on behalf of Wasatch Community Gardens. Staff will be cooking up a variety of garden fresh soups and stews and we'll have a giant salad and lots of bread and butter on hand. We'll also have a slideshow of pictures from the year and volunteer awards.
