Slow Food Utah: Building A Better Lunch Box

What? Slow Food Utah is a non-profit organization dedicated, in part, to promoting the "buy local" movement, small independent farms, local producers & retailers, and various organizations similarly inclined.

Join Slow Food Utah in its "Time for Lunch" campaign, in which we were pushing for congress to reauthorize the Child Nutrition Act to add at least one extra dollar per child for healthier school lunches.

They will have over 24 booths with educational information on food and health, along with interactive demos. There'll be 3 specific workshops going on all day that parents and children can participate in, educating them on how to make better food choices for themselves in and outside of the home. We'll have about 3 food vendors, music and hopefully a magician!

Volunteers Will:

  • Help to oversee the workshops

  • Set up the event

  • Clean up after the event

    When? September 25th.
