July Events at the Sawner EcoCenter and Preserve!

Environmental Film Series: FRESH

What? FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers, and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for the future of our food and our planet.

When? Tuesday, July 13 @ 7:00 pm

Where? Free screening at Santy Auditorium. 1255 Park Avenue, Park City.

Tickets: FREE! Thanks to our partnership with Leadership Park City and the Park City Film Series. No RSVP required.

What? Join the Swaner Preserve and Utah State University for a Stream Side Science Workshop. This workshop uses simple water monitoring techniques to teach science, geography, and math concepts. Workshop participants receive 11 lesson plans correlated to the Utah State 9th grade core curriculum standards, an easy to follow monitoring manual, and assistance with field activities and equipment. Research shows that 90% of information taught during hands on lessons is retained by students. Learn how you can share water quality with your students.
