New Roots of Utah (Pathways) WORKPARTY!

What? Utah Refugee Pathways to Self-Sufficiency (Pathways) empowers refugees through part-time entrepreneurial activities including artistic ventures, food enterprises and farming. New Roots of Utah (farming) is the newest program of Pathways.

Purpose? The purpose of this project is to build a healthier community through the development of a small-scale, urban training farm and community gardens in Salt Lake City.

Goals of the Project?

  • facilitate self-sufficiency and greater economic independence through market gardening and the direct sale of produce to consumers.
  • provide communities with access to local, healthy, fresh, affordable and familiar foods. Expand nutrition of refugees.
  • Identify, build and foster the strengths of refugee communities.

    Volunteers will:

  • rake pathways and build beds for community gardens.

    Helpful if volunteers brought:

  • shovel/rake
  • work gloves
  • water
  • sunscreen
  • wheel barrels

    When? June 26th 8am-12pm

    Where? 3100 S Redwood Rd - adjacent to the Redwood Road Recreation Center on the east side just north of the ball fields.
