Literally a grassroots movement...

Thayne Center student Jason Thornton has been instrumental in spearheading a movement to start a community garden on the SLCC Taylorsville Redwood Campus. We're set to launch and the garden has been officially announced:

Enjoy fresh vegetables picked for your office for years to come by participating in the creation of a community garden here at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus! Or better yet, motivate and inspire your students (or self) by incorporating gardening into your curriculum. This will be made possible starting in March after ground is broken for SLCC’s very own community garden.
Come learn about local community gardening and SLCC’s own upcoming community garden on Tuesday, 02 March, Taylorsville Redwood Student Cetner 207 @ 3:00pm. University of Utah Biology Professor Fred Montague will present: “The Global Imperative for the Local Garden”

For more information, check out this flier and then get involved!
